Are we allowed to bring our dogs?

We cannot permit dogs on site due to our free-roaming animals and for health and safety reasons. Guide dogs however are permitted.

Can I have a refund on my tickets?

We are unable to give refunds on any of our tickets at this time. However, we can transfer tickets to another date.

Are there picnic facilities?

Yes we have designated picnic areas within the farm park, some which are sheltered and heated.

Is there public transport available for Matlock Farm Park?

Yes! The Stagecoach X17 bus travels to us twice a day from Barnsley-Sheffield-Chesterfield-Matlock. The bus stop is located on Wirestone Lane, a short five minute walk away. Please see www.stagecoachbus.com for up to date timetable.

The closest train stations are Matlock or Chesterfield, with a short taxi journey from each. 

Are there car parking facilities?

Yes, there is vast car parking on site and it's FREE!

How is disability access at the farm park?

There is good disabled access around the farm park, including a changing places toilet and tarmacked paths - for full details, please see our Accessibility Statement

Do I have to book tickets online?

We recommend buying your tickets online, to ensure optimum availability and to allow a steady flow of visitors arriving throughout the day. However, there will still be tickets to purchase ‘on the door’ on the day, subject to availability.

I have an annual pass - do I still need to book a time slot online to arrive at the farm park?

No, if you are an annual pass holder, you can just come along on the day to the farm park and go to the appropriate entry point.

I have a free admission pass - do I need to book a time slot online?

No, simply turn up on the day and go to the appropriate entry point.

Is smoking permitted at the farm park?

No smoking is allowed once inside the farm park and this includes e-cigarettes.

What if we have purchased tickets and one of my party is ill on the day we are due to come to the farm park?

Do carers go free?

A carer visitor is only entitled to free entry to Matlock Farm Park upon presentation of an identification badge provided by a local council/private care organisation or DLA/PIP letter showing proof of status and only when the person they care for accompanying them pays the entrance fee.. Carers do not require a ticket and will be admitted on the day within your group. Please note, as from Saturday 18th May 2024 carer tickets will have a heavily discounted charge of £5.50.

Do NHS and Armed Forces workers receive any discount on tickets?

Yes, we offer 10% discount to the ticketholder who works within these sectors. The discounted ticketholder must show relevant proof of employment ID once they arrive at the farm park. Other ticket holders in the group pay standard entry prices. To receive the 10% discount for the NHS/Forces worker, please add the relevant ticket to your online basket.

When are children’s pony rides on?

Short pony rides are on every weekend and school holiday. Tokens can be purchased at the entrance or shop on the day of your visit, Rides are also available daily during Spring and Summer, (weather permitting, subject to availabilty and subject to change).

Do you cater for vegetarian, vegans and special dietary requirements.
